Guardian Health & Beauty Awards 2014

I was at the Guardian Health & Beauty Awards 2014 held at the Shangri La Hotel yesterday.
Guardian Health & Beauty handed out awards for the year's best loved products. The newcomer segment comprised of 'Experts Pick' and the 'Consumer Choice' categories. 76 newcomer products were reviewed by a panel of experts as well as voted on (online) by the general consumers like you and me.

The panel of experts were:
Shunji Matsuo the CEO of Shunji Matsuo Group, Addy Lee the Chairman of Monsoon Hair Group, Eugene Ong the MD of Urban Hair by Ginrich, Jeric See the Founder of Jeric Salons, Dr Patricia Yuen a Dermatologist with Dermatology, Laser & Aesthetics Clinic, Dr Cheong Wai Kwong a Dermatologist with The Specialist Skin Clinic, Dr Chan Yuin Chew a Dermatologist with Dermatology Associates, Dr Gerald tan from the Aesthetic Dentistry Society of Singapore, Vanessa Chia the Beauty & Health Editor of ELLE Magazine, Roseanne Tang a Beauty Blogger & Make-up Artist and Dollei Seah a Celebrity Make-up Artist.

23 newcomer awards were given out... I want to share with you the ones that I have already used and loved this year.
Hada Labo Whitening Perfect Gel won the Best Newcomer Moisturiser. I love Hada Labo products since the very start and this gel is a great all-in-one type product.
L'Oreal L'extraordinaire by Color Riche won the Best Newcomer Lipstick. These lippies have good pigmentation and such a smooth creamy feel.
Nivea Invisible Black & White Pure Deodorant Roll-On won the Best Newcomer Women Deodorant. I know this product because my husband uses the men's version of this and he always smells fresh even after long walks.
L'Oreal Elseve ExtraOrdinary Oil won the Best Newcomer Leave On Hair Treatment in the Experts Pick category. This is a great oil for damaged hair. I apply it in the morning about 30 mintutes before my shower. It shampoos off and leaves my hair well conditioned.
The luncheon organised by Guardian was a fabulous affair, the food was lovely and I especially enjoyed the entertainment by the president of SPGs haha.
Thanks for the invite Guardian! I look forward to seeing even more new great products on your shelves soon.

P.S.- Word on the street is that some time towards the 3rd quarter of this year, we'll be able to shop at Guardian online... (plus possibly same day delivery!)... the lazy vain girl in me says YAY!!!!!
