The ciNE65 Winners! And free GV movie vouchers for my readers!

The ciNE65 competition for film enthusiasts to tell their Singapore story in a short film of not more than 3 minutes has come to an end.

I enjoyed viewing the fims online, and I voted for my favourites. Here are the winners for the three award categories:  Jury’s Choice Awards,  Audience’s Choice Awards and Inter-School Challenge.

The Jury’s Choice Awards are 100% determined by a panel set up by the Organiser. The jury includes Colonel Roland Ng (Director Nexus), Jeremy Sing (Founder & Editor of SINdie), Sanif Olek (Head Consultant of reeljuice, and a TV & Film Director) and several other accomplished individuals from the film and media industry.

Jury's Choice (Student) Winners
"Overall Best Film" Award - Going Away
This film is about a young lady struggling with her decision and talks to her family members and friends
about her intention of leaving the life she is used to, to pursue something different. I love the twist at the end of this film because the actual "going away" was not what you would have expected. :)

Best Direction- I’ll Be There for You
Best Editing- The Red Knight
Best Screenplay- Love Is Blind
Best Sound Design- Bonds
Best Cinematography- Journey
Best Art Direction- Bonds

Jury's Choice (Open)
"Overall Best Film" Award- Priceless
YES!! I voted for this film! Loved it so much because it was so well shot and it encompassed the theme of this competition "I'll Be There For you, Singapore" so well. The child actor was so convincing, and the music added the the emotions I felt watching this film.

Best Direction- 忘不了 Unforgettable
Best Editing- Vanishing Trades
Best Screenplay- Priceless
Best Sound Design- 忘不了 Unforgettable
Best Cinematography- Pawn
Best Art Direction- Saga Seed

The Audience's Choice Awards are 100% based on public voting.
Favourite Film- Honey
A young boy faces the hard truth of having his brother leave overseas. His quirky grandfather takes him on an outing to teach him a short but sweet lesson. I feel it's a lesson we should all remind ourselves of in life sometimes.

Favourite Actor- Daryl Yeo in Singapore, 还可以啦
Favourite Actress- Choo Ai Keow in 忘不了 Unforgettable

The Inter-school Challenge trophy was awarded to Temasek Polytechnic which had the highest number of quality entries submitted in the Student Category by teams comprising all members from the same school.

Congratulations to all the winners!

If you voted for your favourite film, actor or actress... then you might be one of the winning voters to get up to $200 vouchers for yourself! Check out the official website for the list of all the winners.
