Stingy Men

Women despise feminism. I wouldn't say most, but plenty of women hate it. I for one, am tired of feminism speaking on my behalf.

Real feminism...  once upon a time, was about having the same legal rights as men. Meaning marital rights, legal rights, the right to vote, etc. In the past, women used to have less legal rights. Feminism is simply about having equal rights. Human Rights.

Somehow though.. along the way, fanatic feminists and some men have warped the concept of feminism and equal rights to mean that women are exactly the same as men. In essence however, we are not. I am not a man, and I certainly do not want to be one. But just because I am not a man, does not mean I do not deserve the same rights as a man does.

Dating is an entirely separate issue.  It's social. All this "equality" in dating is really about men wanting to still have the upper hand over women... you can afford your own food so pay for it, bitch!

Or it may be that some men are just cheap Scrooges who pounce on the chance to use feminism to justify why they will not treat a woman right. Luckily, for us women, there are still men out there who are worth the title, who will treat a woman like a lady.

When I am out with male friends, I offer to pay my own way, or even pick up the whole bill if it's not worth splitting hairs on. But if you are a man, and you can't afford enough for 2 people, you shouldn't be dating in the first place.

If you can afford it, then just pay the damn money and stop being stingy. If you choose to keep your wallet sealed, then don't use feminism or "this is the 21st century" as an excuse. Cheap is cheap, no matter how you try to disguise it.

I don't think that a guy should be buying everything for a girl... like her clothes ...make up... etc.  If you let people treat you like a wallet, then you will attract gold diggers. Just pay for your time together, and for nice treats on special occasions. There are plenty of ways in which good women can (and will) return the favour. So put that calculator away, spend within your means and just be a man.

  1. Hi holly! Good post indeed! Radical feminism is such nonsense.
Had an argument once with a friend cause he said "since woman are all asking for equal rights, then why do they complain when we men don't hold the door for them or carry their stuff?!" Omg... So as you've said, they used the reason of feminism to behave in an ungentlemanly fashion, but yet, many of them continue to objectify women haha.
"There are plenty of ways in which good women can (and will) return the favour." Couldn't agree me. I think in every relationship there should simply be a balance. Balance is the key of life! Haha :)

I agree with your post; however, maybe it would have been better if you did not link feminism to this. There is a difference between feminism and feminazi. It is really annoying when women all over hate feminists when they don't realize how much feminism have done for them. The group that you are hating on is the feminazi, extreme feminism. Similar to religion, you have the extremes, but that should not equate to you hating on the religion itself. I really wish women would notice that without feminism, many of us won't be where we are today. Instead of hating on feminists, get the facts right and hate on feminazis instead.

Imagine marrying a stingy bastard. That would not be fun and no way to spend the rest of you life. Think about it lah.

  5. @anon 9.09am- Think about what? My fiance is not a stingy bastard, lol, if that's what you thought my post was about.

I would never date a stingy man (for long) ..let alone agree to marry him! :)

I wasn't saying feminism is bad, was just saying feminism is "X", and yet fanatic feminist (i suppose these are ur feminazis) and some men warp the idea of feminism.... and their warped perception is something I don't buy. :)

Not mean dat! I am just saying every one should think on it. How people share is part of their hearts. What one shares and how much one cares, work together.

Surely you must have written this out of rage towards a particular person because whatever you've said here made no sense.

First you go off making such an atrocious claim that women hate feminism. Excuse me but who are YOU to go make such a claim that "plenty of women hate it"?

I'm a woman and I don't hate it. I appreciate everything the feminist in my past have fought for, as you so rightfully stated. And you are also correct on how along the way, particularly modern time, fanatic feminist have morphed from fighting for equal right to being the same gender. I too believe we are not the same as men BUT deserve the equal rights as men as any human does with one another.

Although this is where your post confused me and made me think you MUST have written it in anger. I don’t know how you think it is only in the equality of dating that men have the upper hand over women, they don’t need an excuse to play pretend the upper hand.

There are cheap men who as you say “will pounce on the chance to use feminism to justify” their cheapness (not why they will not treat a woman right, I don’t think they needed feminism to do that in the first place and what do you mean by right?). Also what do you mean by treat a woman like a lady? Do you mean open doors? Pay for your meal? Do you then act like the lady your man wants you to be? Meek and always in the background?

I think it’s sad for men that women after having demanded equal rights still want to act like the weaker gender when it’s at their convenience. If you can afford it, and is dating with someone you like, there is no wrong for you to pay your share, why should he? Because he’s the man? Since when was that written in stone? Thou being the man shalt be the one paying the bill. Never written.

I know there are dates when men have to impress the lady by paying the bill and that’s his call but it is not right of you to suddenly go “if you are a man and you can’t afford enough for 2 people, you shouldn’t be dating in the first place” what is this materialistic call?! Men should only date if he can pay for two? There are other ways to go on a date you know that doesn’t require THAT much money in which he cannot afford to pay for 2, what restaurant are you imagining in which an average human is unable to pay for two?! 4/5 star restaurant in which the smallest price for a two person course meal is 200? And are you trying to say people with low income shouldn’t even attempt to date because they surely cannot afford it for two?

As a public blogger, I think you should be very careful of what you write and how you address the issue you wish to.
