Avalon Organics

Product Review

Watsons has just brought in the Avalon Organics Elixir Hair Care range ($18.90 each). These salon inspired shampoos and conditioners smell great, and are made from natural, organic ingredients.

As I've mentioned a few times already, I keep having scalp problems. Some kind of chronic dandruff that just won't go away. I tried Nizoral ( recommended by my reader) a few months ago, and it freaking worked!!! I was sooo happy. then a few months later, my dandruff came back. I tried using Nizoral again, but no luck. It made it worse this time, like really drying out my scalp. It's almost as if my scalp got immune to whatever active ingredient was in Nizoral. :(

Plus it's full of harsh chemicals ( there's even a "poison" label on the bottle).

My poor hair needs a break from all the harsh chemicals! Now, I've just started using Avalon Organics. So far so good.

I'm actually alternating shampoos now. Twice a week I use the Avalon Organics Biotin B Complex Shampoo. Three times a week I use the Avalon Organics Tea Tree Mint Treatment Shampoo and Conditioner.

Avalon Organics Biotin B Complex is a thickening shampoo and conditioner. Vitamin B, wheat protein, biotin and other ingredients in this shampoo all help to reduce hair fall, stimulate hair folicles and give hair more volume. Protein helps strengthen and thicken hair. I used to pay for expensive salon protein treatments in the past.

Very happy to find a shampoo that's fortefied with protein. I need it!

And then to tackle my dandruff, I alternate with their scalp care shampoo and conditioner. The Avalon Organics Tea Tree Mint range treats my dry scalp. Tea tree is always good for skin ailments. So far, my scalp is less itchy, less dry. I hope with a few more washes... my scalp will be restored to a healthy balance.

There's also the Avalon Organics Awapuhi Mango Moisturising shampoo and conditioner but I'm not using it. It does smell devine though! It's meant for normal to dry hair. Awapuhi is a Hawaiian wild ginger which helps soften and add shine to hair.

All these products are available exclusively at Watsons. :)
