Do Eyelash Serums Work?

Lately, people have been having eyelash extensions done. Either glamour Barbie like eyelashes like Xiaxue has, or more natural looking ones. But my friends who have eyelash extensions have so many problems... costly touch ups every few weeks, lashes falling off, itchy eyelids or worst of all ultra fake tranny looking lashes. So after some deliberation, I decided not to have any extensions. Instead, I thought I might try out eyelash serums. Eyelash serums/essences are nutrients in a clear liquid form which you apply onto your eyelashes.
So here, I present to you the truth about eyelash serums. Do they really work?
Product Tested: Canmake Eyelash Essence
Price: $13.90 (from Watsons) for a small bottle (looks like 5ml.. not sure, everything in Japanese)

Test Period: 2 weeks. Applied to clean eyelashes morning and night, after cleansing face. Applied onto eyelashes from the roots upwards.

Product's claims: Increases volume while also conditioning damaged eyelashes

Active ingredients: Panthenol and lavander extract
(OK, I looked up Panthenol to check out what exactly it was... and apparently, it's the provitamin of B5. It is a moisturising agent. It lubricates hair follicles. ok, this stuff sounds good to me)
--------------------------------------
Here are the pictures I took ( they are not photoshopped, I never photoshop any of my pics anyway).
Day One
These are my normal bare lashes. They're not spectacular, I find the length ok, but because i have very fine hair, strands of hair on my eyelids and eyebrows are fine as well. (When I coat them with mascarra, then each strand becomes thicker, which is a big reason why I didn't really want to bother getting extensions).

Week One

ok. I realise this is a badly taken pic, from a different angle compared to day 1. Sorry!!
Honestly, I don't see any difference.

Week 2
(end of test period) I notice that I have more eyelashes. Not a significantly great increase... and I'm not sure if it's just in my head... but when I compare pics from day 1 and week 2, it actually does look like I have more eyelashes now. And a slight increase in length as well.

Verdict: Yes it does work! Don't expect a miracle... but it is still a much healthier option than actually having synthetic eyelashes semi-permanently glued onto your real ones!!

So.. what should I test next?!?!?!
