HOLLY JEAN - Heritage in a Jar

Introducing HOLLY JEAN: Heritage in a Jar

I'm thrilled to announce the launch of HOLLY JEAN, a brand born from generations of Eurasian culinary tradition and reimagined for the modern palate. Our handcrafted pickles are bold, vibrant, and deeply rooted in heritage — each jar a celebration of flavours that tell a story.

From our signature Salted Fish Pickle made from premium Threadfin (Kurau) to the comforting flavour of Brinjal Pickle to the tangy burst of Mango Pickle... every product is lovingly made using time-honoured recipes and premium ingredients.
As a child, I was always very hands on in the kitchen, wanting to help my mother with whatever she was cooking. Home has always been a place of warmth, love and good food waiting for me everyday.  I grew up right by her side, learning the craft, developing a deep appreciation for the vibrant flavours that define our heritage.
You can get Salted Fish, Brinjal and Mango Pickles now at the online store HollyJean : Heritage in a Jar .  All handcrafted by me, in small batches.

And I'm also excited to launch new flavours in time to come. Join me on this flavourful journey as I bring the unique taste of Eurasian pickles to your home.

How to Eurasian Eat Pickles?

You can have them any way you like... but here are some suggestions to get you started.

1. With Steamed Rice
The most classic way! Just a spoonful of pickle over hot, fluffy white rice is enough to elevate the whole meal. Our pickle flavours balance perfectly with plain rice.

2. As a Condiment for Home-Cooked or Takeaway Meals
It adds a punch to economical meals — like economy rice, Scissor cut rice, fried bee hoon, or even instant noodles. Great when you’re too busy to cook something fancy but want flavour.

3. With Congee (Rice Porridge)
Salted fish pickle pairs beautifully with plain porridge. A little goes a long way, cutting through the soft, mild texture of the porridge, giving it a rich umami flavour.

4. In Sandwiches/ wraps/ burritos/ pita
For a bold twist, spread some pickle in a wrap or bread with cucumber and lettuce.

5. With Fried Eggs or Omelette
Top a sunny-side-up or plain omelette with a bit of the pickle. The richness of egg balances beautifully with the strong pickle flavours.

6. As a dip
Dip your nachos, chips, bread, roti prata, etc into it

7. With Shepherd's Pie
I love how pickles go with the potato of Shepherd's pie. In fact, I even eat it with plain baked potatoes!

8. With Stew
Ultimate comfort food for me is a corned beef stew, with lots of soft cabbage, corned beef, potatoes and carrots... topped with some brinjal pickle. I think I have to teach you guys how to make a simple corned beef stew soon. Because if you've never had this combi, you're missing out!
