Volvo V40 Cross Country. So in Love!

Last week David and I went down to the Volvo Showroom. We went to check out the new cars and also to take home the Volvo V40 Cross Country D2 which Volvo has so kindly allowed us to have for a test drive.
Black Stone
The new Volvo V40 Cross Country D2 is a Category 'A' cars that runs on Diesel. The benefits of a D2 engine include 59% higher mileage, 22% fuel savings as well as increased reliability. It has a 52L fuel tank and the fuel consumption is 4.1L/100km.
Caspian Blue metallic
It comes in a full range of colours (that's 14 colours to choose from!)
David in the Car, learning more about its specs
My favourite has got to be the Ice White! It's so beautiful!!!! A great balance of sporty and classy elegance.
Contrasting bumpers, Vertical LED Daytime Running Lights
The number 1 thing I love about this car (apart from it being oh so beautifulllll) is the advanced safety features it has. It has Pedestrian Airbag Technology, which is a world-first.  The sensors in the front bumper and rear end of the bonnet register physical contact between the car and pedestrian. The airbag deployed will help reduce the severity of pedestrian injuries.

Collision Warning with Auto Brake can detect, alert and automatically brake if the car risks colliding with another vehicle in front.

Pedestrian Detection with full auto brake is a technology which can detect if a pedestrian steps out in front of the car. If the driver does not respond in time, the car can warn and automatically activate brakes. No other car features this similar technology.

Of course, inside the car, your safety is well provided for. It has the full set of safety features you could need in a car, including a knee airbag on the driver's side.

There's also the Park Assist Pilot which makes parallel parking easy. :)
Honeycomb mesh grille
We spent the weekend driving all over Singapore. The journeys were so smooth, comfortable and the car turned a few heads as well. David says this car is a pleasure to drive. The layout of the controls and panels make the car easy to get used to (very intuitive design). The steering is precise and the seat is comfortable even for long journeys or for off road driving (it's a 4WD!).
Volvo V40 Cross Country D2
This car may be a pretty compact hatchback but it is so spacious and has a large car feel. It is packs a big punch too. It has a Turbo Diesel engine, 1560cc. You're looking at a six-speed Powershift gearbox ... such a thrill when he changes the gear to sports mode. The acceleration (0-100km/h) is 12.1 seconds. Top speed 190 km/h.
Panoramic Glass Roof blocks out harmful UV rays
There's a glass roof which creates a sporty coupe style look. It lets in light but you can also opt to block out all of the sun with its electrically controlled blind.
Bike Rack (optional)
If you're an outdoorsy person, there's the optional Load Carrier with 2 bike racks which you can fit on the top.
The Volvo V40 Cross Country has a Personal Car Communicator remote that enables keyless drive.
Stylish interior
Love the interior of the car, spacious, functional and stylish. It has a fully graphic digital display which is easy to read and it displays useful and important information such as the speed limit of the road you're on. This car is so smart, it's your extra 'eye' on the traffic environment.
Oh how I wish you were mine forever!

The cost of owning this car is about SGD $175 000. Want to test drive or find out more about the V40? Head to the Volvo Singapore website for more information. :)

It's a respectable car but let us be real...a Volvo V40 is not turning any heads on the street.
