Last Saturday, David and I had a brunch tasting at The Halia at Raffles Hotel.
I wore my pink bandage Herve Leger inspired dress from BagCharmLove :)The Halia at Raffles Hotel has a laid back sort of feel, the restaurant is cozy and not pretentious at all. Staff are friendly and helpful too, which I like very much. Nothing puts me off more than bad/rude service!
The Halia has a Brunch Specials menu that's available exclusively during weekends and public holidays from 11am to 5.30pm. They have an Afternoon Tea Service as well as an A La Carte menu available during brunch.
We tried the Polenta coated asparagus with basil lemon mayo ($9++). Great for nibbles...
and the Potato fries with truffle aioli and piquant mayo ($8++) . Oh I love the taste of the truffle aioli dip!
This is their White bean Iberico chorizo leek stew ($16++) . Love the chunkiness of this stew and there are delicious chunks of Chorizo in it. The runny yolk of the sunny side up egg is so yummy when you mix it in with the stew. Oh heaven, and it's a huge serving, so it is good to share with 2 to 3 people.Grilled breakfast with any style eggs ($23++). Here our eggs were poached but you can have them scrambled or done anyway you prefer. The bacon was very thin and crisp, and the portobello mushrooms were so good. SOOO GOOD.
Sous-vide wagyu rump cap ($36++) This kind of beef will make your eyes roll to the back of your head because it tastes so good and it's cooked just right. I also loved the rich taste of truffle in the mash.
We also had a taste of their Pancake with bacon butter, fresh strawberries and puree ($12++). I'm not really a pancake person, but having it with bacon and strawberry puree is interesting.
Now, this is my kind of dessert! Sticky toffee pudding ($10++). Ice cream is superb, texture of the pudding is great. And the taste is the best last taste to have in your mouth after brunch.
For brownie lovers, there's the Sticky chocolate brownie ($12++).
Tried their top selling Singapore 'Sling' by Hendricks ($28++), a signature cocktail based on the original recipe but given a twist with the inclusion of Hendrick’s Gin, an ultra premium cucumber and rose infused gin, and a secret liqueur. The Halia at Raffles Hotel
