A New Dojo is in Town!

Peter Robertson, is an Australian who recently moved from Australia to introduce Zen Do Kai Freestyle Karate & Kickboxing to Singapore in 2009.
His dojo opened yesterday (14th July).
It was my first time at a karate n kickboxing class but I was happy to find that there was a good mix of males and females... as well as a good mix of ability levels..... From ditz (yes, that would be me) all the way up to black belt.
(apologies for the crap pics, I could only take pics during rest/break time ... can't go around snapping pics during the actual training when I am part of the training... I already have a tough enough time not appearing like a nutter. lol)

I don't like physical aggression or fighting, so if I do carry on with Zen Do Kai, it'll be for the toning and workout the training gives me, but I won't be sparring.
It's just a short walk from Aljunied MRT.
Classes are on Tuesdays 7pm to 9pm and Saturdays 1.45pm to 3.45pm.

So whether you want to start something new or are already into martial arts and want to advance... do give Zen Do Kai a try.
There's a month of introductory lessons free! (Do mention that you heard it through Holly Jean's blog!)
Spaces are limited, email any questions and/or book your slot with Peter Robertson at zendokai@y7mail.com .

Mark... are you reading this? I'd like a spare room decked out to become my pink gym like this (in our next home probably)... :) [It can be like my next 5 birthday, V Day and Xmas presents rolled into one]

Just put a pink laptop in there too.. and I'll never leave the room. Heaven! What do you think girls??

The people at NoToRape have emailed to say thank you to all of you for the support over the last few days. :)

I'm happy to have been able to help out even if it's just in a small way. I want to say Thank You So Much to my dear readers who have signed the NoToRape petition and even helped spread the word. *BIG GRATEFUL HUG* from me.

Have you been voting for me daily in the blog awards?! I'm excited. Don't get lazy now... :( it's only until the end of this month! Voting counts for 30% of the final results... [it would really be disappointing to find out I lost by like 1% or something like that] :(

Thanks HJ I'll check out the new Dojo, I've been training mixed martial arts for some years... but the gym relocated to somewhere that's not convenient for me.

Aljunied is pretty central. will check it out. ty

Thanx for the plug Holly Jean. It was a lot of fun on tuesday wasn't it. One comment though,.... Karate isn't just about violence, it is all about self defence and determining your own status as a NON VICTIM. We all feel quite safe in Singapore, There isnt a lot of crime here but someone should tell that to the foreigners who come here,..... the rest of the world is a scary place too. If you ever travel overseas it is good to have some self defence skills....particularly for women.
And Kickboxing is a sport like many others,..... a fantastic workout. (hope you are not too sore after tuesday! hahaha)
Anyway....Ill get off my soap box now. See you in class on saturday.

  4. I am a martial art student and I am very much appreciate your post that martial art is very much important for self defense. Karate in Connecticut will give such training that will make you strong and self dependent
