Of Pizzas, New Clothes and Gossip

Had a slow weekend. The usual house hunt, and we still haven't found what we're looking for.

On Saturday night, we had beer and pizza at Ice Cold Beer. I think like nearly all of their staff are Filipino. Not that I have anything against Singapore hiring service staff from China or the Philippines... but where do the Singaporean service staff go for jobs then? This is going to be one very tough cut-throat kind of world isn't it.
The Ice Cold Beer pizza is to die for. So damn yummy.
My comfy casual T-shirt dress is from annyee . I love all my stuff from them, they fit me great. Wheee!!
And I just love my new sandal heels! They make my legs look slim and long. (Also from AnnYee Thanks guys!)

A lot of gossip going around about the girls from S-Factor... including about me (and unsubstantiated too!). But I guess the great Oscar Wilde was on to something when he said that the only thing worse than being talked about.. is not being talked about! Interesting... will explore that in another post.

But in all honesty, I think it'll be worse once the show airs. Anonymity behind the computer screen has really given cowards a false sense of bravado these days.
Reality TV is obviously edited to entertain, and they will definitely peg certain characteristics to each girl, and only use footage which support how they want the audience to perceive her. So, i do hope that my readers bear in mind that all 12 of the girls are real people. Some more likable than others, but really none 100% bad and bitchy or 100% good and innocent in reality.

Real people (yes, humans! Duh), are multi faceted. Everyone has their character flaws, be it minor or more obvious, and no one is just one dimension (e.g neatly categorised into -Sweet girl, Smart girl, Skanky girl... etc) .
Only 10 days to go till the show airs!

I really think the service sector is teeming with chinese and pinoys. Everytime I get a call from banks touting cards, its a filipino. And now the airport staff are full of chinese...

how liddat? :s

You have a point, yes.. But where's the fun in that? Isn't the whole point of following public personalities to adore/ridicule/loathe beyond reason? Plus the audience has very little time to actually get to know the person. Definitely too little time for giving the benefit of the doubt.

As someone who is quite prominent in the local public consciousness, I'm sure you're well aware of the pitfalls of public attention, wanted or otherwise. Makes me kinda glad I'm just a civil servant.
